Lady Pirates drop road game to Lumberton

The Vidor Lady Pirates traveled to Lumberton Tuesday to take on the Lady Raiders in a district contest. The varsity girls lost 57 – 48 in a tough battle. Leading the Lady Pirates were Mia Robin with 10 points, Natalie Morrison with 8 points, Abigail Rodriguez and Madison Powell with 7 points each.

Lady Pirates triumph in WOS Tournament

After getting off to an 0-3 start in district play, the Vidor Lady Pirates found their footing over the Christmas break and are currently riding a five game winning streak.

Pirates win 3 of 4 at LCM Tournament

The Vidor Pirates won three of four games at last week’s LCM basketball tournament. Opening play Thursday, the Pirates outscored Tarkington 41-34 to get off on the right foot in tournament play. The Pirates’ stumbled a bit in their late game Thursday, falling to Pollock Central 53-44.

The month of January begins a new year and with it the beginning of the 36th season of the Toyota ShareLunker program when anglers across the state, and for that matter the nation, cast their lines and fish for Largemouth Bass in Texas’ world class fisheries.

Pirates open district play with 56-28 win over Bridge City

The Vidor Pirate varsity basketball team opened district play Friday with a 56-28 win at Bridge City. The Pirates scored first and never relinquished the lead, taking a 27-5 lead into the locker room at the half and continuing the pace until the final buzzer sounded.

Lady Pirates off to rocky start in district play

The Vidor Lady Pirates hosted the Lady Cardinals from Bridge City Friday in their third district outing and were narrowly defeated 30-26 in a hard fought battle.
