Ten Lady Pirates named to 17-4A All-District team

The Vidor Lady Pirate soccer team earned accolades for their history making 2023-2024 season that saw them advance to the Region 3 semi-finals. Three were named superlatives, with senior Hope Dilley earning defensive MVP honors, junior Chloe Post named Co-Utility Player of the Year and sophomore Kenya Correia earned Mid-Fielder of the Year honors.

VHS sends seven to Track Regionals

Seven Vidor High School athletes are going to the D19/20-4A Area Championships in Bullard this week after placing in the top 4 in their event at the Area Meet held at West Orange Stark Thursday. Vidor took first place in both boys’ and girls’ high jump with Dane Villadsen earning the gold medal with a jump of 6’-04” and Raegan earning gold for her 5’-4” performance in the girls’ division.

Lady Pirates fall to LCM, Bridge City

Friday, the Vidor Lady Pirates hosted the LCM Lady Bears and came away with a 6-2 loss. LCM opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the sixth inning and Vidor answered with a run in the bottom half on an Avery Harrington single to right. She advanced to third on an LCM error and scored on a Natalie Morrison single.

Lady Pirate Soccer set new records in 2024 with trip to Regional Finals

It has become something of a tradition, with Vidor’s Lady Pirate Soccer in the playoffs for 15 consecutive years, 14 of those under Fields’ leadership, but this year, the Lady Pirates went well beyond earlier appearances that advance to the Regional quarterfinals three times. This year, the Lady Pirates fought their way into the Regionals championship match before falling to district nemesis Lumberton 1-0.
