Fred Lanting

Born in Galt Cambridge, Ontario on September 15th, 1956. Fred was the son of Herman Peter Lanting and Anne (VanderMeer) Lanting. He was schooled in the trade of a mortician in Calgary, Alberta and had a number of other jobs. His last years, he worked for Vidor Memorial Funeral Home and Sabine Monuments, until he became too sick to work. In his spare time he loved to read, and he loved to bless other people. Visitation will be Monday, November 23, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Sidney Ralph Lanting. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary-Kay Lanting of Orangefield; his daughter Jane-Anne Ayarza and husband Chuck of Oklahoma, and his sons JB Lanting, and wife Victoria of Mont Belvieu, and Dillin Lanting and wife Danielle of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by his brother Peter and Judy Lanting of Kincardine, Ontario, Henry Lanting of Kirkland Lake, Northern, Ontario. His sisters, Cathy and Christopher Chatten of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Marj Lanting of St. Catharines, Ontario and Connie and David Bakker of Jordan Station, Ontario. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bethany Ayarza, Josh Ayarza, Jonathan Ayarza, Jessica Ayarza, Dustin Ayarza, Kylee Lanting, Jennings "Jay" Lanting, Benton Lanting, Landon Lanting and Khloe Lanting and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, and by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Southeast Texas Hospice.

Floy Elois Pullen

Floy Elois Pullen, 92 of Vidor died Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at her residence. A native of Jasper, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Floy was a member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church and retired from VISD after 25 years as a cafeteria worker. She enjoys spending time with her family and gardening. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, November 23, 2020 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Floy is survived by her husband of 77 years Charles Pullen of Vidor, TX and one grandson.

Robert Jeff Jackson Jr.

Robert Jeff Jackson Jr. was born October 29, 1958 in Beaumont, Texas. He went to his heavenly home on Thursday November 12, 2020 in Abilene, Texas at the age of 62. Robert was a special person who did not let his challenges stop him. He loved life and enjoyed having a good time. He liked going to church and singing, some of his favorites were Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross and At the Cross. He enjoyed parties, trips and cruises. Robert enjoyed working at Quail Valley Utility Water District for several years. Robert is survived by 3 sisters, Linda Sparks and husband Chester, Sheila Bush and husband Mike and Shelly Luman and husband Redell. Multiple nieces and nephews also survive him. His parents, R.J. Jackson and Addie Ruth Jackson and nephews, Edward Robert Bush and Ethan Lane Schreiner preceded him in death. A memorial will be held on Saturday November 21, 2020 at 2PM at Bivins Cemetery, Merryville La. under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Some very special people were involved in Roberts care over the years. Two of them were Dina Martinez and Vonda Holmes. They accepted Robert like he was one of their children. He loved them very much. The last few years he was with Vonda full time. The time came when he needed more care and we moved him to Abilene TX so we could check on him more.

Denise Mahan

Denise Mahan, 64 of Vidor died Saturday, November 21st, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Denise was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor and was an avid Vidor Pirate Football Fan. She did a little rodeoing and was a member of Orange County Jr. Sheriff Posse. Denise was preceded in death by her parents Burton and Audrey Mahan, brothers John Michael Mahan and William Doyle Mahan. She is survived by her brothers Tony Mahan and his wife Beverly of Vidor, TX, Danny Mahan and his wife Julie of Nacogdoches, TX, numerous nieces and nephews Joshua Mahan, Ryan Mahan, Justin Mahan, Miranda Firebaugh, Lauren Daniels, and Breana LeJeune , great nieces and nephews Max, Sam, Jud, Sean, Liam, Emily, Grant, Kaylee, and Garrett.

Julia Beth Ronnei-Murphy

Julia Beth Ronnei- Murphy, 55 of Vidor died Thursday, November 19th, 2020 at her residence. A native of Minneapolis, MN, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Julia was a homemaker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. She was an avid Minnesota Viking fan and of course her favorite color was purple. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Julia is survived by her husband of 33 years TY Murphy of Vidor, TX, bonus kids Cody Murphy and Mandi McDonald both of Vidor, TX, bothers Scott Ronnei and Tim Ronnei, twin sister Jolie O'Rourke all of Minnesota, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Raymond G. Westman

Raymond G. Westman, 89 of Vidor died Friday, November 20th, 2020 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor for the past 12 years. Raymond was a District Fire Chief in Beaumont for 31 years before he retired 1982. He enjoys painting and spending time with his family. The visitation is private do to Covid-19. Graveside services will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Raymond is survived by his sons Ray Westman of Vidor, TX and Roger Westman of Churchton, MD, daughter Debbie Diltz of Groves, TX, sister Shirley Falls of Beaumont, TX, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Helen Marie Stanton

Helen M. Stanton, 90 of Vidor died November 10, 2020 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Helen was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor and retired from DuPont Beaumont after 22+ years as a secretary. Helen was S preceded in death by her husband Robert Stanton. She is survived by her daughter Peggye McDonald and her husband Dennis of Canyon Lake, TX, sister Aileen Mooney of Vidor, TX, 4 grandchildren Stanton Morse and Jenna Nelson , Amanda Stephens and her husband Jason, Andy McDonald, Aaron McDonald and his wife Shelly, 7 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers Stanton Morse, Aaron McDonald, Andy McDonald, Ken Bailey, Bob Mooney and Brady Mooney. A private service will be held for the family due to Covid-19.

Barbara “Babs” Gail Hornbuckle, 64, of Vidor, died Friday, November 13th, 2020 at her home. She was a longtime resident of Vidor and worked with her own ceramic company and cooked for business and also to hand them out to people. She loved spoiling her grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm with a visitation prior starting at 1:00 pm. She is survived husband of 28 years Glenn Bailey of Vidor, TX, children Chad and wife Carol Hornbuckle of Orange, TX, Amber and husband Kenneth Linder Jr. of Millington, TN, and Collin and wife Bekah Bailey of Vidor, TX, brothers Jeff Miles of Lumberton, TX and Mike Miles of Buna, TX, sister Paula Lohwasser of Charlotte, NC, 3 grandchildren Kyle Bailey, Aubrey Linder, and Tinsley Hornbuckle, nieces Hyde Moore, and Meghan Smith and nephews Paal Klykken, and Josh Miles. She was preceded in death by her parents J.D. Miles and Mary R. Van Hollenbeck.
