The Vidor Lady Pirates defeated the Jasper Lady Bulldogs 13-2 in six at home Tuesday night. Vidor scored 13 runs on 13 hits and committed one error. Jasper scored two runs on five hits and committed four errors.

Pirates take 2-1 win over Silsbee Saturday

The Vidor Pirates outlasted the Silsbee Tigers Saturday at Silsbee to take a 2-1 win over their district rivals. Silsbee got on the board in the bottom of the first and led 1-0 until Vidor tied the game in the top of the fourth. Vidor pulled ahead with another run in the top of the 6th and held on to win 2-1. Aiden Sims took the win for Vidor going 7 innings, giving up one run on five hits.

Vidor soccer take bi-district playoff wins, advance to Area Round

Vidor boys and girls soccer teams won their bi-district playoff games held in Beaumont Monday with the girls defeating Hamshire Fannett 11-0 and the boys winning 4-1 over Liberty with Andre Ribiero, Mario Roy, Brayden Fagg and Branson Healey each scoring goals for the Pirates to advance to the Area Round of Competition. The boys will face Navasota in Crosby at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28 while the Lady Pirates will take on Sealy Friday at 5:30 p.m. at C. E. King Stadium in Houston.

Marlow sets new state record at State Powerlifting Meet

Vidor High School junior Riley Marlow set a new state record in Abilene over the weekend at the State Powerlifting meet with a total lift of 1790 pounds to take first in his division. He lifted 700 pounds in the squat, 470 in the bench press and 620 in the dead lift for a combined total of 1,790 pounds in the 220 pound class.

Tigers defeat Pirates 3-1

The Silsbee Tigers defeated the Vidor Pirates 3-1 in Vidor Tuesday in a pitchers duel. Bryce Bushelle was on the mound for the Pirates, giving up seven hits and three runs over five innings striking out three and walking four.

Pirates complete sweep of Mustangs

The varsity Vidor Pirates came back Saturday to defeat WOS 9-2 after Friday’s home game was a washout due to thunderstorms. Vidor scored 4 runs over the first three innings with the Mustangs tallying their two runs in the 4th.

Lady Pirates now 2-2 in district play

The Vi d o r Lady Pirates opened district play 2-0 with big wins over West Orange (19-0) and Silsbee (10-2) and are now 2-2 with losses to LCM (1-10) and Bridge City (1-3). LCM opened the scoring with a two-run first inning, adding another score in the bottom of the 2nd.

Lady Pirate Powerlifters 8th at State Meet

The Vidor Lady Pirate Powerlifting team placed 8th of 48 teams competing at the State Meet held in Frisco over the weekend. Coach Rodney Burks said, “We didn’t finish as high as we hoped but most of the kids did have their highest totals.

Soccer Playoff Double Header Monday

Vidor girls and boys soccer bi-district playoff games are set for Monday at Beaumont’s Memorial Stadium aka “The Butch”. The Lady Pirates play first at 5 p.m. versus Hamshire Fannett and the Pirates follow at 7 p.m. with their match against Liberty.
