Lady Pirates hold year-end Athletic Awards Day

The Vidor Lady Pirates held their year-end Athletics Awards Program in Pirate Gym last week with volleyball. basketball, soccer, softball and track and field teams and athletes being recognized.Coach Jones made the presentations for Volleyball.

Federal Red Snapper Season Opens June 1

AUSTIN — The private recreational angler red snapper season in federal waters opens June 1. Red snapper fishing is open year-round in Texas state waters. Bag and size limits for federal and state waters will remain unchanged.

Lady Pirate Athletic Awards held Tuesday

The Vidor Lady Pirates Athletic Awards ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon at Pirate Gym with numerous awards and recognition honoring the 2023-2024 Lady Pirates. Top awards were the Heart of the Lady Pirates and Outstanding Athlete awards.

AUSTIN — As flood waters begin to recede across much of Central and East Texas, property owners may encounter wildlife in unexpected places. Floods can temporarily displace wildlife like snakes, armadillos, skunks and raccoons into some people’s yards and houses as they seek cover or higher ground.
