DPS Increases Patrols for Spring Break

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will increase its presence on the roads to ensure highways are safe as part of a spring break enforcement campaign.

Congratulations to Victoria Marks on being the CTE Student of the Month

Victoria is in two different CTE programs and does a wonderful job juggling both FFA Agriculture and showing her animals as well as the Ready Set Teach program. She recently scored high enough on the Teacher /Student (TAFE ) organization's competition to earn "National Status."

Mrs. Ross' classes

Mrs. Ross' classes from Vidor High School toured Lamar State College Orange on Wednesday, February 23. The students were able to talk with college professors and learned valuable information regarding potential career choices as they toured through each of the buildings on the LSCO campus. 

Southeast Texas 2022 Youth Career Expo Attended by 2,500 Local Students

An estimated 2,500 students from 27 area high schools attended Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas’ 8th Annual Youth Career Expo “Connect to Your Future!” at Ford Park in Beaumont on Thursday, February 24.

The Vidor Junior High Pirate Players

The Vidor Junior High Pirate Players traveled to Odom Academy to compete in an Educational Drama Association competition in January. The Junior Pirate Players received 41 Superior ratings, 19 Excellent ratings and 2 Good ratings.

Mrs. Ginger Bourque's Animation

Mrs. Ginger Bourque's Animation students enjoyed creating characters from software provided by Jenny Nguyen of Full Sail University. Mrs. Nguyen also spoke to CCMR, Opportunity Now, Work Program and Animation students about college degrees and scholarships offered by Full Sail University in Florida.
