The Vidor High School wind ensemble, under the direction of Ms. Kara Phillips, earned straight one ratings for all six judges at UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest last week. The group performed El Relicario, Night on Fire, and Wayfaring for their concert selections.

Congratulations to the eight VHS Advanced Culinary Arts students on earning the ServSafe Manager Certification. ServSafe Manager is a food safety program providing high-quality food safety education and training for the restaurant and food service industry. It is required at all restaurants.

The Vidor High School Criminal Justice students competed against 450 students from across the state at the TXPSTA State Competition in New Braunfels. The Felony Traffic Stop Team won second place-It is comprised of Emma Lindsey, Kamryn Hoffmeyer, Natalie Mann, and Ethan Sanchez.

BRETT SELLERS, a fifth grader at Vidor Middle School, was the Vidor ISD Spelling Bee winner with the word "freight" in round seventeen. Brett earns a $500 scholarship toward higher education upon graduating from Vidor High School.

Oak Forest, Vidor Elem and Pine Forest 2nd grade GT students combined for a field trip to Cattail Marsh at Tyrrell Park in Beaumont. They learned more about ants, explored the boardwalk over the marsh and discovered more wildlife in their area at the Education Center.
