Pirates defeat WOS 9-1 Tuesday

The varsity Vidor Pirates defeated the WOS Mustangs 9-1 at home Tuesday after a six-run fourth inning. The Mustangs scored first, but the Pirates tied the game at one all after their at bat Tyler Gray scored on a passed ball.

Lady Pirates defeat WOS 10-3 away Tuesday

The varsity Lady Pirate softball team defeated the WOS Lady Mustangs 10-3 in Orange Tuesday evening. After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Pirates’ Gracie Matherne doubled, scoring Jaidyn Green who had reached first on an error after a line drive to centerfield.

Pirates drop Monday night game to Nederland

The varsity Pirate baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Nederland Bulldogs Monday night in a non-league match. The Pirates scored in their first at-bat when Tyler Gray scored on an Austin Cadroy single to centerfield. Nederland took the lead in the second inning with two runs.

Pirate Powerlifters compete at State Meet in Abilene

Two Vidor High School Powerlifters traveled to Abilene last week to compete in the State Meet after qualifying at Regional competition. Chase Stansbury competed in the 114 pound class and finished 9th with a squat of 330, bench of 195 and deadlift of 345 for a total of 870 pounds.

The Vidor Lady Pirate varsity soccer team will host the Liberty Lady Panthers at Pirate Stadium in the first round playoff game this Thursday with a 6 p.m. kickoff after Coach Ralph Fields won the coin toss this weekend.

Pirates out hit, but Raiders come out on top Friday

The Vidor Pirate varsity baseball team out hit the Lumberton Raiders 4-2 Friday in Lumberton, but Lumberton came out on top 5-3 on the scoreboard. Landon Bailey singled to drive in one run in the second inning as the Pirates led 2-0 after two innings.
