In the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs and facing a 2-2 count, designated hitter Bryce Munoz blasted a walk off homer over the left field fence to break a 3-3 tie for a varsity Vidor Pirate win over the Bridge City Cardinals Tuesday night in Vidor.

Lady Pirates defeat Jasper Bulldogs 2-0 on Senior Night

The Vidor Lady Pirate varsity soccer team defeated the Lady Bulldogs of Jasper Tuesday in their final home game of the season. It was also Senior Night for the eight graduating seniors on the team. Scoring goals were Alaina Davis and Brooklyn Healy, with assists from Kinley LaPray and Ella Bunting.

Pirate Powerlifters will send three to State

Vidor’s Powerlifting team sent four lifters to Regional competition last week and the team finished eighth out of 50 teams competing. Three of those lifters qualified to advance to competition at the State Meet. Tyler Webb, Chase Stansbury and Devin Petersen will advance to state competition.

Vidor Lady Pirate softball falls to BC 6-0

In a nod to expected bad weather and Bridge City’s turf field, the Vidor Lady Pirates traveled to Bridge City Monday night to take on the Lady Cardinals rather than the scheduled home game Tuesday.

Lady Pirates take first in Vidor Invitational meet

Vidor High school hosted the Vidor Invitational track meet at Pirate Stadium Thursday with nine teams competing in the girls’ division and eight in the boys.

Lady Pirate varsity softball defeats Silsbee 13-2

The Lady Pirates varsity softball team defeated the Lady Tigers in Silsbee 13-2 Friday evening after falling behind early in the game. Batting first, the Lady Pirates scored one run in the first inning but Silsbee went 2-1 after a tworun second inning.

Lady Pirates fall 6-5 in district opener

The varsity Lady Pirates softball district opener Tuesday in Orangefield was spoiled by a last inning home run that broke a 5-5 tie and ended the game 6-5 in favor of the Lady Bobcats.

Pirate baseball 3-2 over the last week

Tournaments and other non-district games have kept Vidor Pirate varsity baseball team busy over the past week. Tuesday, the Pirates traveled to Port Neches to play the PNG Indians on their home turf and came away with a 10-6 win.

Lady Pirate JV is now 7-1 after going 3-1 in BC tourney

The Lady Pirate junior varsity softball season is off to a great start going 3-1 in the Bridge City tournament last week. The JV went 3-1 at the BC tournament Thursday and Saturday and with Monday night’s 6-4 win at Bridge City, their overall record is now 7-1.
