Pirate basketball tops Huntington 68-56

The varsity Vidor Pirates hosted the Huntington Red Devils at Pirate Gym Friday in a non- district basketball game and came away with a hard fought 68-56 win. The Pirates jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Huntington scored.

Lady Pirate basketball is 3-2 at Thanksgiving break

The Vidor Lady Pirate basketball team hosted the Lady Horns of Hamshire Fannett Tuesday and traveled to Deweyville to tangle with the other local Lady Pirate team Thursday.

Lindale ends Pirates’ season with 45-23 playoff loss

Going in to the 4A Division 1 bi-district playoff game with Lindale, the Pirates already faced a couple of disadvantage, Lindale’s size and speed, but in the end, it was that old bugaboo, turnovers, that sealed the win for the Eagles in Bryan Friday.

2022 19-4A All-District Volleyball Team announced

Six Lady Pirates were named to the 2022 District 19-4A All District Volleyball team as selected by district coaches. Rylee Sherman received superlative honors as Utility Player of the year. First team selections include Carlie Abbott and Brilie Cornelison. Second team selection was Jaden Lee.

Pirates defeat Wildcats 34-7 to finish district play 4-1

The threat of rain and thunderstorms couldn’t put a damper on the Vidor Pirates Friday as they hosted the Splendora Wildcats for Senior Night and the final game of the regular season.
