Toyota ShareLunker Program launches 37th season this weekend

Anglers across Texas and the nation have their calendars marked for opening day of a new Toyota ShareLunker season. The 37th season kicks off New Year's Day as anglers cast their lines in hopes of landing a Legacy Lunker largemouth bass (13-plus pounds) in Texas’ worldclass fisheries.

Closing out pre-district with a hard fought loss to a very good Nederland team 57-52. T The Pirates rebounded to defeat the West Orange Stark Mustangs 67-63 in their district opener. Leading contributors in the loss to Nederland were Zander Lindsey with15 points and 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

Varsity girls basketball lost to Jasper and West Orange Stark last week in district play. Traveling to Jasper Tuesday the Lady Pirate fell to the Lady Bulldogs 63 - 34. Leading the Lady Pirates were Raegan Stephenson with 19 points and11 rebounds. District record 0 - 2.

Pirates take second at Orangefield B-ball Tournament team

The varsity Vidor Pirate basketball team had a good week, winning five of six games they played and finishing second in the Orangefield Basketball Tournament held Thursday- Saturday. The Pirates began their streak with a 70-47 over the Warren Warriors on the road Tuesday.

Boys, girls in tournament play

Vidor Lady Pirate varsity basketball competed in the Deweyville tournament while Boys’ Pirate Basketball played in Nederland over the weekend. The boys opened play Friday against Fannett, falling 62-51. Bryce Loftin led the Pirates in scoring with 20 points and 6 rebounds.
