Pirates fall at Jasper 85-68 Friday

The Vidor Pirates lost their district game at Jasper Friday by a score of 85-68. The Pirates got behind early and could not catch up. Jasper enjoyed a 12-point lead after one period 23-11. The Pirates cut the Bulldogs’ lead by one at halftime with the score 38-28 for the Bulldogs.

The 2022 Toyota ShareLunker season proved to be monumental, thanks to 350 anglers across the nation who entered 512 Lunker largemouth bass into the program throughout the year. The total included 357 in the Lunker Class (weighing between eight to 9.

The varsity boys basketball lost a close game at bridge City Tuesday 43-40. The Pirates led 13-9 after one period but Bridge City she their way into a 25-25 tie by the half.

Lady Pirate soccer junior varsity on a roll

The Vidor Lady Pirate soccer junior varsity went undefeated at the Cajun Classic Soccer Tournament and defeated the Nederland Lady Bulldogs 2-1 Monday night in Vidor.

Lady Pirate soccer competes in PNG Tournament

The varsity Lady Pirate soccer team competed in the PNG-hosted Cajun Classic Soccer Tournament Thursday and Friday at Port Neches and hosted the Nederland Lady Bulldogs Monday at Pirate Stadium. At the Cajun Classic, the Varsity lost to a very good PNG team 5-0.

Lady Pirates pick up district win over Bridge City

The varsity and junior varsity Lady Pirated picked up district wins over Bridge City Tuesday before enjoying a bye Friday. The second half of the season begins this week. The varsity game was close to the end with the teams tied at 14 after one period.

Pirates 3-2 at Evadale Tournament

The varsity Vidor Pirates went 3-2 at the Evadale Basketball tournament after Christmas, losing to Jasper 73-68 in OT and 65-62 to Coldspring before resuming district play at Silsbee January 3. The Tigers defeated the Pirates 92-53.

Lady Pirates searching for district win

The Vidor Lady Pirate basketball team played in the Orangefield tournament to close out 2022, with a 3-1 performance with wins over Orangefield, Cleveland and Warren and a loss to Port Arthur Memorial. The Lady Pirates opened game 1 with a win over Orangefield 40 - 38.
