Lady Pirates fall to HJ 3-1 in bi-district playoff

The Vidor Lady Pirates battled a tough Hardin-Jefferson Lady Hawk team Tuesday night in Kountze in the first round of Bi-District play’. The Lady Pirates won their first set and then fought hard for the next three with several lead changes in the latter sets.

Big second half propels Pirates past Falcons 48-34

The Vidor Pirates finally notched a victory over the Huffman Falcons and a big win it was, clinching second place in District 10-4A-1 setting up a playoff game November 11 against the District 9-4A-1 third place finisher Lindale in Bryan.

The Vi d o r Lady Pirates varsity volleyball team clinched a playoff spot after defeating Lumberton Friday for Homecoming. winning in 4. Seeding, opponent and location are yet undetermined, but after tonight’s (Tuesday) games, the playoff picture will be clear and plans can be made.

The Mighty Pirate Marching Band will represent Vidor in state competition once again after scoring straight 1’s in the UIL Regional contest held October 19. “The countless hours of practice paid off!,” said Fine Arts Department Head and Band Director Kara Philipps.

The Vidor Pirates travelled to Lumberton Friday for a district matchup that could determine the eventual district champion. The Raiders have not beaten the Pirates since most of this years’ players were in middle school. This year, the Raiders got their revenge.

Vidor Junior High football results vs Lumberton Vidor Junior High football battled Lumberton Thursday at home The Vidor 7th grade A- Team won 48-22. Offensive players of the game were Rylan Chesser, Colt Holden, Brooks Burns, and the Pirate offensive line.
