Vidor High School junior Raegan Stephenson won first place and a gold medal in Austin at the State Track meet held last week. Stephenson medaled at State as a Freshman, taking second place and a silver medal.

Gulf Shrimp Season closes May 15

The Gulf of Mexico commercial shrimp season for both Texas and federal waters will close 30 minutes after sunset on Monday, May 15, 2023 until a still-to-be determined date in July.

Federal Red Snapper Season opens June 1

The private recreational angler red snapper season in federal water opens Thursday, June 1. Red snapper fishing is open year-round in state waters. Bag and size limits will remain unchanged.

Seven bound for Regional Track Meet

Seven Vidor athletes qualified to advance to the Regional Track Meet to be held Friday and Saturday in Bullard after placing in the top 4 in the Area Meet held in Huffman last week.
It was a memorable Senior Night and regular season finale for the Lady Pirates as they fell behind 6-0 early but came back to secure an 11-9 victory. Andreya Garrett hit two home runs in the game on over the right field fence and this one over the left.
