The Vidor Pirates could not contain the Lindale Eagles high powered offense on a wet and dreary Thursday night in Nacogdoches as the Eagles defeated the Pirates 49-28 in their bi-district playoff game at SFA’s Homer Bryce Stadium.

Both VHS boys and girls basketball is underway with both teams showing some early season promise. Over the past week, both teams have played scrimmages and non-district games. One notable win for the girls came November 3 with a 74-18 win over Nederland at Vidor.

The Southeast Texas Coaches Association has announced their Class of 2024 Hall of Honor Inductees with former VISD Head Coach and Athletic Director Jeff Mathews among the four. Mathews served as head football coach and AD for 24 years VISD before his retirement this summer.
The Varsity Lady Pirate Cheerleaders will be making the trek to Nacogdoches Thursday to support the Vidor Pirates in their bi-district playoff game versus the Lindale Eagles at SFA’s Homer Bryce Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
