Ronald Glenn Merrell, 79, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, at Gilbert’s House Assisted Living in Beaumont. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force before building a lifelong career as a lineman with Southwestern Bell, retiring after more than 25 years of service. Ronald had a passion for coaching, especially soccer, which he enjoyed alongside his sons. He also found joy in the great outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting. A natural tinkerer, he loved working with his hands, always finding ways to fix or improve something. Above all, Ronald was a devoted family man. He is survived by his sons, Ron Merrell of Vidor, TX, Rodney Merrell of Vidor, TX, and Michael Merrell of Vidor, TX; his brothers, Marlin Merrell of Bridge City, TX, and Jerry Merrell of Flatwoods, LA; as well as 10 grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
