Kathleen Constance Finch Cryer Shaw, 97, of Vidor, died Friday, March 12th, 2021 at her home. She was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was born December 29th, 1923 in Lowestoft, England and was delivered by Aunt Alice who was a midwife, married to Kathleen's Uncle William Finch. Her parents were Herbert Walter Andrew Finch and Kate Kathleen Gowning. Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading books, and spending time at the lake. She served in World War II with her country of England from 1941 to 1946 as a SPT tester for Waafs leading Air Force women. When she was over there she married Earl Milton Cryer in 1945 when she was in the Air Force and then came to America in 1946. Earl and Kathleen ended up going their own ways and she ended up finding her soul mate in Cecil Ordell Shaw in June 25, 1965 who she was married to until he passed. Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Ann Cryer Rodriguez of Vidor, TX, sons John Earl Cryer of Lufkin, TX and Michael Dale Cryer of Castroville, TX, 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
