Jesse Earl Shepherd, 76, of Mauriceville, TX, passed away on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at his residence. Born in Newton, TX, Jesse grew up with a love for small-town values and carried that sense of community throughout his life. While work was a significant part of his life, Jesse’s heart truly belonged to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 20 years, Shirly Shepherd of Mauriceville. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, often found cheering them on at baseball games or sharing stories that reflected his kind, generous spirit. Jesse is survived by his children, Hope Wendling of Hamshire, TX, and Mary Norris of Livingston, TX. He leaves behind his brothers, Alfred Shepherd of Saratoga, TX, and Henry Shepherd of Nacogdoches, TX, as well as his sister, Mary Ray of Beaumont, TX. His legacy continues in his six cherished grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
