Janet Stacy Mobley Arthur (neé Driscoll) was born May 31, 1964, in Tulsa Oklahoma and passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in La Porte, Texas, on January 6, 2021. Janet loved the beach and whether she was ditching class or staying in her timeshare, she was happiest with her toes in the sand. She’d have classic rock on the stereo (the Eagles or maybe Lola by the Kinks) and a smile on her face as she walked up and down the beach searching for that perfect sand dollar. She spent many happy days with her children, Andrew, Stacy and Nick, splashing in the waves and making sandcastles. Janet was also a collector of four-leaf clovers and would spend hours in clover patches looking for them so she could preserve them and give them to her friends and family. She recently went on a tour of the southwest with Melissa McDonald, her dearest friend. Janet said it was the trip of a lifetime, just two girls, the open road and the beautiful American Southwest scenery. Janet was a beauty inside and out; she had a generous soul and gave lavishly of her time, her money and her heart. She was never too busy to help a friend or her family; she would do whatever it took. One Thanksgiving she crawled through mud under her parents’ house to help fix a water leak. It was freezing cold and took forever for her to get all that mud out of her beautiful long hair but she was all-in to get the job done. When her little sister got her first car, Janet drove 250 miles to make sure that she knew how to change the tire, change the oil, and use the jumper cables. Family was very important to Janet and she spent all the time she could with them including annual Fourth of July Family Reunions and Thanksgiving at Mom’s. Janet was preceded in death by her father, Arthur (Chuck) Driscoll and her husband Joseph (Joe) Arthur. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Donna and Carlos Rasberry; her stepmother, Deborah Driscoll; brother, Arthur (Lee) Driscoll, Jr. [Sandi]; sister, Helen (Nai) Mongiello [Jerry]; children, Andrew Mobley [Stephanie]; Stacy Mobley; and Nicholas Arthur; grandchildren, Tyler Landry, Aiden Landry, Caleb Mobley, Cody Mobley, Mason Mobley (scheduled arrival in April 2021), and Temperance Mobley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved fur babies, Bo and Shy. Janet will be laid to rest in the Ware’s Chapel Cemetery in Emerson, Arkansas, later this year.
