James Vinson Eaves Sr. 82 of Vidor Texas passed away at his home on Dixie Dr. on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022 surrounded by his family. Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor on September 11th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Vidor; he was a retired pipeliner from Local union 450 and Orange County Drainage district. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, gardening, rebuilding automobiles, camping, boating hunting, fishing and LOVED listing to his music. Jimmy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Nelda Brodnax Eaves, daughter Brenda Gail Eaves, and great-grandson Landon Jake Eastwood. Brothers Norman Eaves, Wilbur “Coon” Eaves, David “DB” Eaves, Melvin Ray Eaves, Robert “Mickey” Eaves, Ronald Eaves and sister Lynette King and their parents. He is survived by children James Jr and wife Sherry Eaves, daughter Twala Miller and Joey Miller, son Larry Mitchell and wife Connie Eaves and daughter Sharla Hagler and husband Glynn Hagler. Grandchildren and spouses Sadee and Cade Anthony, Candace and Cory Thompson, Michelle Miller, Mason and Cindy Miller, Breanna Eaves, Mathan and Kyla Eastwood, Shanice and Nick Albrecht, Clarissa Hagler and Tyler Hagler. Great grandc hildren Jackson Thompson, Ava Miller, Grant Thompson, Logan and Drake Eastwood, and Wade Anthony and his brother Russell Eaves. He will be truly missed by all that loved and knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family invites their friends and family to make donations for cemetery maintenance funds.
