Norma Lynne Morphis left her earthly existence on September 16, 2023. Her passing was at Harbor Hospice House with family by her side. Norma was born in Beaumont, Texas and was 81 years of age. She was a faithful Christian, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Norma had a love of teaching. She began her career teaching at Vidor Junior High in the 1970's after receiving her BA degree from Lamar University. She had a constant love of learning and earned her Master's degree and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. She became a counselor at VJHS until her retirement in 2001. She mentored many teachers and students in her career and was known for her kindness and patience in all things. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Harold Morphis, her mother and father Edna Cain Knapp and F.P. Knapp Jr, her sister Marsha Kessell, her brother F.P. (Bo) Knapp III and her grandson Camden Naismith. Norma is survived by her son Alan Morphis and wife Katrina of Vidor, her daughter Andrea Naismith and husband Jim of Corpus Christi, and grandchildren William Morphis, Lora, John and Sarah Naismith as well as her sister Susan Porter of Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 22, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. In lieu of plants donation can be made to Make a Wish Foundation or Humane Society of Southeast Texas.
