James Curtis Garner, a long-time resident of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at the age of 90 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. He was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, where his faith played an integral role in his life. A true patriot, James served his country with honor and distinction in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, embodying the values of duty, courage, and commitment. In civilian life, James was the proud owner and operator of Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply in Beaumont. James sold the beauty store in 1985 and retired.

James enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. James is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Elaine Garner of Vidor, TX, who shared a lifetime of love and companionship with him. He is also survived by his children, who will forever cherish his memory Jim Garner and his wife Becky of Orange, TX, Jana Womack and her husband Brent of Mesa, AZ, Roxane Newmann of Vidor, TX, in addition to his immediate family, James is survived by his sister, Ann Paschall of Keller, TX.

James leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his 7 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren, who will carry his memory forward with love and admiration. James Curtis Garner will be remembered not only for his service to his country and community but also for his warm heart, love of family, and zest for life. His presence will be greatly missed by all who have the privilege of knowing him.
