Homer 'Buddy' Darden Jr, a beloved member of the Vidor community, passed away on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, at the age of 93. He took his last peaceful breaths surrounded by loved ones at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. Homer was a dedicated and longtime resident of Vidor, where he established deep roots and touched the lives of many. He was known for his unwavering faith as a devout member of the North Main St. Church of Christ. In his professional life, Homer was a retired machinist who worked diligently at Amer Synpol in Port Neches, Texas. Beyond his work, Homer was an avid reader. He found great joy in exploring the world through books. Homer is survived by his loving children: Brenda Jones and her husband Terry of Vidor, Texas; Diane Smith and her husband Bruce of Vidor, Texas; and Rhonda Darden of Vidor, Texas. His dedication to his family was evident throughout his life, and he leaves behind a profound legacy of love and support. Homer's memory lives on through his six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-greatgrandchildren. His family was a source of immense pride, and he cherished the moments spent with each generation. Homer was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nora Darden, who awaits his arrival in the afterlife.
