Majority of Vidor City Council seats up for election

A majority of seats on the Vidor City Council will be decided in May with candidate filing already underway. Wards 2, 3 and 5 will be decided in a regular election May 5 and the Ward 6 seat will be filled in special election, likely on the same May 5 uniform election date, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Any eligible candidate who is interested in serving on the Vidor City Council in one of those wards may obtain a Candidate Packet from the City Secretary, Vicki Watson, at Vidor City Hall, 1395 North Main St. in Vidor.

Candidate Packets contain an Application for a Place on the Ballot, Texas Ethics Commission’s Form CTA – Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate, as well as other candidate forms and instructions. (Note: The Application for a Place on the Ballot must be signed in the presence of a Notary.)
