Gilbert 'Wayne' Charboneau, Sr. died July 11th, 2023 in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 91. He was born to Edwin and Stella Charboneau on February 23, 1932. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he married Elizabeth DeAnn Rice on September 25, 1955. After retirement, he and DeAnn enjoyed traveling, with some of their favorite places being Ouray Colorado, The Grand Caymans, Australia and New Zealand. Spent a number of summers riding Jeep trails throughout the mountains. To honor his wishes, his ashes will be scattered in the mountains that he so loved. Surviving are four children, Connie and Lloyd McBride of Vidor, Texas; Cheryl and Joey Peno of Point Blank, Texas; Wayne Charboneau, Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas and Lori Forey of Houston, Texas; Four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
