Sanchez to be VISD Police Chief

A face familiar to many Vidorians will be taking over the reigns of the Vidor I.S.D. Police Department starting with the New Year. A twenty-three year veteran of law enforcement, Mike Sanchez, has been selected by the Vidor I.S.D. Board of Trustees to be offered the position of Chief of Police of the Vidor Independent School District Police Department. The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of School Superintendent Dr. Jay Killgo during the regularly scheduled December Board of Trustees meeting on Monday night.

Mike Sanchez is currently a Lieutenant with the City of Vidor Police Department where he has served the city for seventeen and a half years. Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll and Vidor City Manager Mike Kuntz were both in the audience at the school board meeting to support him and congratulate him.
