Pirates’ poor first half play gives game to revenge-minded Titans

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans had revenge on their minds and two weeks rest on their bodies when they met the Vidor Pirates Friday.


Revenge was sweet for the Titans as they scored 40 first half points to beat the Pirates 40-14 in Port Arthur. While the Titans were gunning for the Pirates after last year’s 31-21 upset victory gave the Titans their only regular season loss and threw the district into a three way tie for first, a slow start for the Pirates’ and miscues in the first half were too much to overcome in the second half.
