George Matthew Dewberry Sr, 69 of Vidor died Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Quitman, Georgia, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. George was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor and retired from Goodyear Chemical after 30 years as a process operator. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and was a firefighter for the Vidor Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and a memorial service will start at 11:00 am Friday, February 10, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Vidor. He is survived by his son Matt Dewberr y and his wife Kara of Vidor, TX, brother Bill Dewberry and his wife Fabia of Macon, GA, sister Jeanne Hunnewell of Tallahassee, FL, 2 grandchildren Connor and Isabel Dewberry.
