Notice from VISD Superintendent Killgo

VISD Students and Parents,

Our hearts go out to everyone in our district affected by the flooding of Hurricane Harvey. We know the devastation and upheaval that so many of you are working with right now. The school district is working hard to reopen for our students; we want to help restore normalcy to your lives and help get our students back into a comfortable routine.

Two of our campuses, Oak Forest Elementary and Vidor Middle School, suffered damage that will take several months to correct. It is our goal to reopen next Tuesday, September 19, for the first day of the 2017-2018 school year. When we return, the students from Oak Forest and Vidor Middle School will move to the locations specified below:

• 6th grade students will attend Vidor Junior High School.
