Ray Long, 87 of Beaumont died Saturday, September 24th, 2022 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Grayson County, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor, before moving to Beaumont 3 years ago. He served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Austin College on a basketball scholarship. Ray was retired from Gulf States/ Entergy and enjoyed deer hunting. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the funeral will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. R a y is survived by his wife of 63 years Miron Long of Beaumont, TX, children Karen Smithson of Coldspring, TX, Kenneth Long of Mont Belvieu, TX, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donates can be made to First Baptist Church of Vidor Elder Care.
