Dolores Marie Trouard Laque, 90, of Vidor, passed away on June 24, 2022, at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Woodlands, Texas. Dolores was born on August 10, 1931, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Bernadette and William Trouard. After graduating high school in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dolores attended the university of Southwestern Louisiana where she earned her degree in education and was the first in her family to graduate from college. In 1953 she married the love of her life, Henry Laque, Jr. and they had three lovely daughters. She was a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her children and her students. She began her teaching career at Longfellow Elementary in Beaumont, Texas. After several years, she and Henry moved to Vidor, and she began teaching at Oak Forest Elementary for the following thirtyfive years. Education was her passion, as well as building self-esteem. She made a significant impact on all of her students. When Dolores was not teaching school, she loved reading the Wall Street Journal and completing crossword puzzles. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Lisa Bounds and her husband, Allan, of The Woodlands, Texas, Sue Terrill-Golias and her husband Joe, of Beaumont, Texas, Dette Toups and her husband Steven, also of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Grant and Manami Bounds, Brooke Terrill, and Taylor and Reese Toups; great-grandchild, Aiden Bounds; and nephew, Jerry Burrows. All last respects are taking place in Vidor, Texas. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, July 1, 2022, followed by a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with both taking place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1600 N Main Street, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 North Main Street.
