More than twenty five years ago, on May 2, 1998, Vidor voters headed to the polls to elect new city council members and to vote in a non-binding referendum to gauge public sentiment regarding implementing zoning in the City of Vidor. To the surprise of many, voters approved of zoning by a 60-40 percent margin.
