Opening play with the Jasper Bulldogs Thursday, the Pirates fell behind early after Jasper scored 2 runs at their first at bat and added 4 more in the second inning.
The Pirates clawed to within 3 after scoring in the 4th inning but that would end all scoring as Jasper clinched a 6-3 win.
