Late score propels Tigers over Pirates

A late score by the Silsbee Tigers broke a 4-4 tie to defeat the Vidor Pirates 8-4 in their final game of the season. It was a seesaw battle between Vidor and Silsbee Monday marked by a couple of lead changes and a tie before a winner was determined in the eighth inning with a two out grand slam.

Lady Pirate Soccer seniors in All-Star game Friday

Five Vidor Lady Pirate Soccer Seniors have been selected to play in in the annual Senior All-Star Game at PNG High School this Friday May 7 at 5p.m.

VHS Choir

On Wednesday, April 28, the Vidor High School Choir Department, under the direction of Shawn Simonson, participated in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation at Nederland High School.

Women and War

The Vidor High School drama department will present a play, Women and War, this Thursday and Friday evening at the Vidor High School auditorium. Thursday evening's festivities will begin with a 6:00 p.m. Student Council recognition of veterans, followed by a snack time at 7:00 p.m.

The varsity Vidor Pirate baseball team were narrowly defeated Tuesday when a late score by LCM quashed their hopes for a win after having led for most of the game.

The Vidor Lady Pirate varsity softball team struggled against the LCM Lady Bears Tuesday with nine strikeouts and three errors contributing to a 9-1 loss. Vidor’s lone run came late after a Jaidyn Green walk in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Pirates fall to Indians 8-2 in non-district game

The varsity Vidor Pirate baseball team was defeated 8-2 Friday in a non-district game with the PNG Indians. The Indians jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and that score held up until the top of the fourth inning when Vidor scored two runs. Quinten Root led off the inning with a single.

Ten VHS athletes compete in Regional Track Meet

Eight girls and two boys from Vidor High School qualified for the Regional Track Meet held Friday and Saturday in League City and one will continue on to the State Meet to be held in Austin May 6-8.
