The Vidor Pirates came out cold Friday, falling behind early as the Kountze Lions topped the Pirates 65-44 at Pirate Gym. Kountze’s distance shooters dropped five three-pointers in the first quarter to go ahead 23-13.

Pirates’ late rally falls short in 25-20 playoff loss

Time ran out on the Pirates’ playoff hopes Friday in Humble as the 1st place District 10-4A Vidor Pirates fell to the 4th place District 10-4A Tyler Chapel Hill Bulldogs 25-20 in the $A Region III Div. 1 bi-district game.

Five Lady Pirates named to All-District Volleyball

Five Lady Pirates were selected by district coaches as members of the All-District team. Mia Robin was named Newcomer of the Year, Rylee-Sherman was selected to the1st team, Ava Lightfoot was sleected to the-2nd team, and Brilie Cornelison and Brooklyn Bushelle were selected for Honorable Mention.

Pirate basketball takes win over PN-G Saturday

The Vidor Pirate varsity basketball team traveled to mid-county Saturday and thanks to a big third quarter, took the win 46-35. Vidor Head boys basketball Coach Nate Smith said, “We were down 20-18 at half, but outsocored them 17-4 in the 3rd quarter to take control.

Pirates overcome 20 point deficit to win district title

Down by 20 points late in the third quarter, the Vidor Pirates found their mojo and stunned the Lumberton Raiders with a 21-point rally to win their final regular season game 28-27 and secure first place in District 10-4A and a trip to the bi-district playoffs for the second year in a row.
