Rep. Kyle Biedermann, R-Fredericksburg, filed a bill (House Bill 1359) last Tuesday that, if approved by the Legislature, would place a referendum on the November ballot asking Texans to choose between remaining a state or once again becoming an independent nation.

DPS Reminder: DL Expiration Waiver ends in April

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is reminding the public the waiver on expiration dates for driver licenses (DLs) and identification cards (IDs) ends on April 14, 2021. Customers who need to renew are urged to make an appointment or renew online today.

Filing continues for city, school elections

Local residents can sign up to be notified when a supply of Covid-19 vaccine is available. The Southeast Texas Regional Operations Center (SETROC) has created a new website to allow residents in a five-county region to sign up to be notified when there is a vaccine for the Coronavirus available.
