Filing underway in local school, city elections

Filing got underway this week for local school board and municipal election to be held in May. As of Tuesday, incumbent Vidor ISD board members Carrie Vincent and Natalie Long have filed for re-election to their respective seats. Long holds the Position 1 seat while Vincent holds Position 2.

One killed in IH-10 auto-pedestrian accident

At approximately 7:45p.m. Monday the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County. The crash occurred in the eastbound traffic lanes of the Interstate, just west of the Texas-Louisiana state line.

Texas House elects Dade Phelan speaker as 2021 legislative session gets underway
