Cappen gives final sign off after 42 years at Vidor PD

After making history as Vidor’s first female police officer and rising to the rank of Captain, 42-year VPD veteran Aleta Cappen gave her final sign off Thursday at a retirement party given in her honor.

Vidor Animal Control now under Vidor PD administration

Vidor City Council has approved a change of administration for Vidor Animal Control from Vidor City Hall administration to the Vidor Police Department. The change went into effect July 26. “The change moves Vidor into alignment with most other Texas cities,” said Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.
