Most cities in Orange County reported higher sales than in June 2020, as did Orange County itself based on the latest sales tax allocation distributed by TexasComptroller Glenn Hegar, who announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $1.

Texas Sales Tax Revenue hits $3.4 Billion in July

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.39 billion in July, 13.5 percent more than in July 2020. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.

Vidor to be certified a Music Friendly Community

The City of Vidor is expected to be among the latest Texas cities to be certified as a Music Friendly Community later this month with a certification ceremony at Vidor City Hall August 24. The city has completed the multi-step process to become certified, beginning with a workshop held in June.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office is having a Home & Body Essentials DIY Class. Come and ENJOY a fun day learning to make Home and Body products such as soap, sugar scrub and more. The class will be on Saturday, August 14th, from 10 am to 2 pm and is $25 per person.
