Pirates, Lady Pirates fall in Friday games

Friday the 13th came a week late for the VHS basketball program as both the boys and girls teams fell to their opponents in their end of the week games. The Lady Pirates traveled to Deweyville where they were defeated by a score of 55-33.

Pirates open season with 52-46 win over Kelly

The varsity Vidor Pirate basketball team opened their season at home with a 52-46 win over Beaumont Kelly Tuesday night. A big second quarter erased the Pirates slow start and gave them a lead they never relinquished.

Vidor junior Kai Reed qualified for the 4A State Track Meet to be held in Round Rock November 24 with his 10th place finish at the Regional Cross Country Meet held Tuesday in Huntsville. Reed clocked 16:55 to qualify. Joining Reed at the State Meet are three other Orange County runners.
