Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Volunteer Event

Big Thicket National Preserve is looking for volunteers on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday January 18th for our annual Longleaf Pine Tree planting event. This event has been taking place at Big Thicket National Preserve for over 10 years and we are looking forward to another successful event.

VHS winter sports resumes in 2021

Vidor ISD’s winter sports, basketball and soccer, are in the midst of a short break for the Christmas and New Year Holiday break, but will be back in action this weekend with Lady Pirate basketball hosting the Lady Cougars Saturday, January 2nd at Pirate Gym. Action gets underway at 11 a.m.

Lady Pirates 0-4 in district after loss to Lumberton

The Vidor Lady Pirate basketball team has gotten off to a rocky start in district play with varsity suffering back-to-back losses last week. Tuesday, the Lady Pirates travelled to Bridge City to take on the Lady Cardinals.

Lady Pirates go 1-1 in Friday scrimmages

Soccer season is underway with the Lady Pirates getting a couple of scrimmages under their belts Friday. In a match with Beaumont West Brook, the Lady Pirates fell to the Lady Bruins 3-0, but in the second match against Beaumont Kelly, Vidor took a 2-1 win.

The varsity Vidor Pirate basketball team is 0-2 in district play after having to forfeit what would have been their district opener versus Bridge City December 15 due to a Covid-19 quarantine that affected varsity, junior varsity and Freshman teams, effectively shutting down the entire boys...

UIL Marching Competition

At the first ever UIL Marching competition, there were 11 bands competing at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas. The top five were given trophies, and the Vidor band was awarded fifth place.
