All runners on the Cross Country

All runners on the Cross Country team scored a personal record with their time this past Saturday at the Tony Munson Invitational Meet in Liberty. Kai Reed placed 4th, Andrew Fawcett placed 5th, Branson Healy placed 38th, Kaden Whitman placed 91st and Gaige Hartfield placed 104 out of 124 runners.

Vidor High school participated in the Region III Cross Country Preview held this past Saturday in Huntsville Texas. Out of 201 runners, Kai Reed won 1st place, Andrew Fawcett was 20th place, Branson Healy placed 96th, Kaden Whitman placed 184th and Gaige Hartfield placed 188th.

Pirates roll up nearly 500 yards in 39-29 road win

Improving to 3-0 Friday with a 39-29 win on the road over the Brazosport Exporters, the Vidor Pirate offense averaged nearly 7.5 yard per carry with 470 yards in 63 rushes and scored six touchdowns. The Pirate defense allowed 199 yards on 31 rushes and 153 yards on 11 of 20 pass attempts.

A back and forth battle with the Silsbee Tigers that saw the Vidor Pirates come from behind twice to win 51-48. After holding the Tigers on their first possession, the Pirates marched 51 yards to take a 7-0 lead on a three yard run by Vidor QB Eli Simmons.

Congratulations to Kai Reed and Andrew Fawcett for a 2nd place finish in the Huffman Relays this past weekend. Andrew Fawcett coming across the finish line (photo). This was a 6 mile race, each runner ran 3 miles. Their combined time was 34 minutes 57 seconds for 6 miles.
