In spite of outgaining the Santa Fe Indians by almost 100 yards and leading for most of the game Friday, the Pirates came up short on the scoreboard, suffering a 27-24 loss in Santa Fe. Pirate Head Coach Dwayne Dubois said he was “disappointed in the loss. We went in fully expecting to win.

The varsity Lady Pirates Volleyball team lost to Nederland at home in three sets, 25-12, 25-20 and 25-8 Tuesday and traveled to Kountze Friday Vidor beat Kountze in straight sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-12. The Lady Pirates open district play Tuesday at West Orange.

“It’s a great opportunity,” said Vidor Head Coach Dwayne Dubois. “I am looking forward to it.” The Pirates are coming off a 14-7 scrimmage loss to WOS Thursday at Pirate Stadium that saw the Pirates score first on 70yd run outside by Riley Marlow.
