Graveside services celebrating the life of Percy Robert Ferguson, Jr., age 78, of Kountze, Texas, will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at Weeks Chapel Cemetery in Newton County, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.
Percy died August 8, 2021 in Lumberton, Texas. A native of Farrsville, Texas and a longtime Vidor resident, Percy retired from Exxon Mobil after 34 years of service. He was a member of Happy Valley Church in Kountze. Percy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding around and spending time with his kids, grandkids and family.
Percy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandy Ferguson of Kountze, Texas; three daughters, Rhonda Stillwell and husband Terry of Burkeville, Texas, Renell Castle and husband Shannon of Bridge City, Texas and Rachel McBride and husband “Bo” of Lufkin, Texas; sister, Mary Domec of Lufkin, Texas; four grandchildren, Ashtchin Kilmer, Morgan Castle, Blane McBride and Garrett Stillwell; and five great grandchildren, Bryce Kilmer, Bronson Kilmer, Beaux McBride, Kate Stockdale and Emmett Stillwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Robert Ferguson, Sr. and Verbal Powell Ferguson; an infant son and a grandson, Samuel “Blake” McBride.
