WAYNE DEWAUGH BROWN

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne DeWaugh Brown, 97, of Vidor, TX, who passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. A native of Falkville, AL, Wayne dedicated his life to his family, community, and country. He served honorably in WWII in Germany and worked for the US Postal Service in Birmingham, AL, retiring as Postmaster of Brewton, AL. Wayne attended Florence State Teachers College in Florence, AL, where he met and married the love of his life, Virginia Nell Cannon. They shared 73 wonderful years together until her passing. Wayne is survived by his children: Linda Kay Brown Dollar and husband Stephen of Vidor, TX, and Howard Wayne Brown and wife Jada Majors Brown of the Birmingham, AL area. He is also survived by his cherished 5 grandchildren: His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren. A man of many talents and interests, Wayne was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and co-owner/operator of a Christmas Tree Farm in Brewton, AL. He was an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Brewton, AL, and the Florence Police Department.
