“Boy Mayor” Ponders Bid For Governor

Minutes after the armed robbery of the downtown post office on Jan. 14, 1921, Dallas police and irate citizens led by the city’s “Boy Mayor” chased down and captured the perpetrators. After his discharge from World War I military service, Frank Wozencraft hurried home to Dallas in February 1919.

HOUSTON -- The Association of Texas Small School Bands is pleased to announce the selection of the 2024 ATSSB All-State Band. More than 10,000 high school band students from across Texas auditioned in twenty-two different regions for a place in their respective all-region bands.

Vidor to set public hearing on renewal of reinvestment zones

Vidor City Council will consider setting a date to conduct a public hearing to consider renewing the establishment and designation of five residential reinvestment zones for tax abatement purposes within the City of Vidor when they meet Thursday at Vidor City Hall.

State Sales Tax Revenue Totaled $4.1 Billion in December

( AUSTIN) — Te x a s Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.06 billion in December, 3.2 percent more than in December 2022. The majority of December sales tax revenue is based on sales made in November and remitted to the agency in December.
