Dear Rusty: My full retirement age (FRA) is 66 and 8 months, which I’ll reach in September 2024. I’m still working 3 days a week. I want to cash in my 401K and want to know if I have to wait until my FRA for IRS purposes or can cash it in anytime in 2024.

Congratulations to our Stark Reading Vidor School Finals contestants. 1st Place contestants received $2000 in scholarships and get the chance to compete for an additional $5000 at the Stark County Finals in April. 2nd Place contestants received a scholarship of $1500.

Candidate filing for May 4 municipal elections got underway January 17 and will continue through February 16 and so far, local municipalities report a few incumbents have turned in their paperwork for a re-election bid before the February 16 deadline. In Vidor, two of three incumbents have filed.

Additional funding means additional firefighters and greater protection for the local community said OCESD#1 Fire Chief Robert L. Smith. “In the approved fiscal budget for 2023-2024, additional full-time firefighter/EMT positions have been created,” Smith noted.
