State Sales Tax Revenue Totaled $4 Billion in May

(AUSTIN) —Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.01 billion in May, 4.5 percent more than in May 2023. The majority of May sales tax revenue is based on sales made in April and remitted to the agency in May.

(Family Features) Drowning is a leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During the summer months, when water activities are more prevalent, drowning is more common, according to the National Safety Council.

What a difference a year makes! Last year our Spring weather patterns provided significantly less rainfall with dramatic summer effects.

NAS JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Cmdr. Lane Drummond relinquished command of Patrol Squadron (VP) 26 to Cmdr. Curtis White, a Vidor, Texas native, during a change of command ceremony on May 17. White served as the command’s executive officer for one year before taking over as commanding officer.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the annual Orange County Sheriff’s Office COPS AND KIDS PICNIC will be held this Friday, June 7th at Claiborne West Park, located on the 1-10 westbound service road between Orange and Vidor between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Mr. Bingham’s welding students created a carbon metal bench using GMAW “Mig” welds for the teachers to sit at when doing their morning & afternoon duty. The students then chose a bright yellow paint to finish it off. Great job to those students who had a hand in this project.
