Early vote total tops 45 percent of those eligible

Almost half of the eligible voters in Orange County have voted early for the November 3 general election. Through Monday, 24,580 of Orange County’s 54,443 eligible voters have taken the opportunity to vote early at one of the four early voting locations in the county.

Vidor Rotary Club will once again host their annual Election Day chili dinner, this time with grab and go for social distancing.
The varsity Lady Pirate Volleyball team will battle the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears tonight in Pirate Gym in a tie-breaker for the third spot in district and determine their bi-district opponent in the playoffs.

Lady Pirates-Lady Bears match to decide playoff foe

The Vidor Lady Pirates varsity volleyball team has qualified for the playoffs for just the second time in school history, first in 2018, and now in 2020, both under the leadership of Coach Melissa Story. The Lady Pirates and the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears will meet at 6 p.m.

It may be the first time a school board meeting has been so emotional. But VISD Police Chief Mike Sanchez was moved to tears as he was named Vidor ISD's Employee of the Month for October. He was nominated by both Pine Forest diagnostician Abby Iles and Director of Community Relations Sally Andrews.
