Early voting begins Monday in Vidor municipal election

Early voting by personal appearance in the May 1 Vidor municipal election gets underway Monday April 19 and will continue through April 27. Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each workday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 around 6:25am, the Orange County Narcotics Unit, along with the Vidor Police Department conducted a traffic stop eastbound on interstate 10 on a Nissan Armada. During the stop, seven kilograms of cocaine was found in a hidden compartment underneath the vehicle.

City’s retail sales decline continues

Vidor’s sales tax allocation, the money collected by local merchants on retail sales and sent on to the Comptroller to be returned to local government, has again decreased compared to 2020 according to figures recently released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. Vidor’s allocation is down 11.

First day of STAAR testing canceled for thousands of students experiencing technical issues across Texas

Texas education officials advised school districts to suspend the first day of STAAR testing after thousands of students showed up in person and were prevented from taking the standardized test online because of widespread technical issues across the state.
